Rosarium als cadeau aan ‘De Stad’

In oktober 2022, tijdens onze jubileumvoorstelling in de grote zaal van De Kring naar aanleiding van ons 50 jarig bestaan, hebben we een cadeau aan de stad beloofd. Op 24 juni a.s. zullen we dit officieel aanbieden.

Ons idee, is een cadeau waardoor we de bewoners van Roosendaal bewegen om meer rozen in hun tuin te planten. Daardoor zal er, middels verschillende samenwerkingsvormen, in de Paterstuin achter de Paterkerk aan de kade een rosarium met maar liefst 250 rozenstruiken verschijnen.

We hebben in Hendrik Jan Verheijen van Tuincentrum De Landerije aan de Rucphensebaan een partner gevonden, die de levering van rozen op zich gaat nemen. “De Landerijen heeft een perfect assortiment rozen die makkelijk te onderhouden zijn en vooral rijkbloeiend zijn. De ideale rozen dus. Een perfect assortiment voor ons cadeau aan de stad. In het rosarium kunnen bezoekers de rozen niet alleen bekijken maar ook bestellen. Via een QR code zal dit snel, modern en eenvoudig ingericht worden. Enkele dagen later zijn die dan op te halen bij het tuincentrum aan de Rucphensebaan. Naar ons inzien de huidige (moderne) manier die zal helpen meer rozen in de stad te krijgen.

De rozen in het rosarium zijn zorgvuldig en gezamenlijk gekozen door Jos Baaten, de tuinman van de Paterstuin en de heer Hendrik Jan Verheijen. Gemak in onderhoud, rijk bloeiend en vol kleur waren de belangrijkste criteria. In samenwerking met de gemeente Roosendaal is het rosarium aangelegd, waarbij het IQ Aarmoei-nieke de rozen voor zijn rekening neemt.

Sinds april zijn er al volop activiteiten in de Paterstuin ter voorbereiding op deze opening. Inmiddels zijn er verschillende perken ingedeeld zodat elke rozensoort een eigen ruimte krijgt binnen het gehele rosarium. Daarna zijn de rozenstruiken geplant en op zaterdag 24 juni om 19.00 uur, voorafgaand aan ons IQ Zomeravondconcert op de cour achter Café De Veestallen, zal het geheel in de Paterstuin officieel geopend worden. Iedere belangstellende is hierbij van harte welkom.

We hopen dat dit cadeau zal bijdragen aan steeds meer rozen in onze stad, en onze tuinen. Zodat we over een tijdje weer trots kunnen zeggen

“Ik woon in Roosendaal, een dal van Rozen”.
